Hilde Hay is a registered psychometrist who assists people to find their own answers to their life’s questions and challenges.
Each one of us has enough wisdom and insight to live a joyful and fulfilling life, but we need to create the space to listen to our own hearts. Whether you’re uncertain about a career choice, or you feel the need to hit the pause button and retreat from everyday life to find stillness, my role is to help make it possible for you to hear your own voice speak up.
I have a Masters’ Degree in Research Psychology, one Hons Degree in Psychology (cum laude) and another in Industrial and Organisational Psychology (cum laude).
I am an accredited Enneagram Practitioner and has been working as assessment specialist, workshop developer, facilitator and coach in my own practice since 2004. My practice is in the peaceful town of Sedgefield, halfway between George and Knysna.
We provide an experience close to nature where you have the space, the time, and the freedom to re-connect to your core – a connection which is often neglected in the mad rush to care for everyone else. Each retreat is unique, taking place in different settings and themed around different topics. Some retreats cater for the fit and strong, and others require you only to walk yourself to the bathroom!
I will help you tune into your own voice; explore who you are to confidently make career decisions which bring you joy. I usually follow a 3-step model. Firstly, through discussion, questionnaires, exercises and assessments, we explore your essence – what is important to you, what do you want from life, and what will make you happy. Then, clients are guided to identify careers that appeal to them. The last step is to put all of this together. We consider each of the identified careers in relation to your core being.
Cognitive and scholastic assessments - I offer the full battery of cognitive assessments for exam accommodations, as prescribed by the IEB Board, including: WISC-V, WIAT-III, Edinburgh Reading Test 4, TOWRE-2, and Wordchains.
Usually schools refer children for these assessments. Some medical aids cover cognitive assessments. Corporate assessments - I have extensive experience in corporate assessments for new appointments, promotions and development. Assessment for personal development - My preferred assessment tool for personal development is the Enneagram, which is a framework that allows one to understand where and why you get stuck in negative behavioural patterns, and how to grow towards balance and freedom in life.
